What to see in Vaala
Vaala, is a final town located in the Kainuu region. In 2004, it had a population of 3,751 inhabitants and an area 1,765 km² of which 446 km² are water (population density: 2.8 inhabitants per km²). The municipality is unilingual in Finnish and settled in 1954, it was previously called Säräisniemi and was founded in 1867. Vaala is also a word in ancient finés that refers to the course of the river just before the rapids.
